Thank you to all, that supported our recent Fund-Raiser held at the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers, Mass.  The evening was a success on many levels and I would like to take a moment to apprise you of the highlights.

Over 200 people attended the event, which featured Live & Silent Auctions, Auction of Red Sox Baseballs, Great Food, Friendly Socializing and America’s Favorite Ball Game – BINGO.  The event raised well over $30,000 in the name of our Son, Brother, Friend & Hero  - 1^st Lt. Derek Hines. 

Derek’s mission is still being carried on because of your support.  The first order of business during the gathering was the welcoming of John Gonsalves, President and Founder of Homes for Troops.  On behalf of all involved with Derek’s mission, I presented John with a check for $10,000.  This is to be applied towards the new home, currently being built for Sgt Brian Fountaine in Plymouth, MA by Homes for Our Troops.

While Derek was serving in Afghanistan, his commitment to his men, the people of Afghanistan and his mission created the foundation that our efforts are building on.  The Board of Directors has been working to expand on the initial work that hundreds of people completed, helping us achieve these initial accomplishments in Derek’s name.  In the coming weeks we will be announcing another initiative that will continue building on these accomplishments, and we will present plans for our activities for the year 2008 and beyond.

On behalf of my wife Susan, my children, the Board of Directors and all of you who have helped to further Derek’s mission, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
